The successful prevention, relief or treatment of most all diseases of the eyes are assured by these methods;
a larger percentage of successful results is obtained and in short time. In fact, these curative means are almost a specific in most diseases of the eye, just as they are in most diseases of the ears, and the other organs of the body. Cures are obtained with surprising accuracy and dispatch. By these means the prevention of eye diseases or their cures are placed on a scientific basis since these methods enable us to obtain successful results with all the accuracy and definiteness demanded of scientific methods. Again common foundationing exhibits the qualities of a specific in the treatment of eye diseases. Cures of all sorts and types are obtained with ease and accuracy by the methods of common foundationing. Of especial interest is the fact that most difficult, serious or even dangerous cases of diseases of the eyes need not discourage us. It is particularly in just these cases wherein these methods are so dependable. However, it is not fair to delay the use of these methods until the case is hopeless that is, until the terminal or end stages have been reached; they should be used at the start, or better still, as a preventive.
Most acute diseases of the eyes, whether of the eye lashes, eye lids, tear sack or tear ducts, cornea, conjunctiva, lens, different parts of the eye ball or of the eye ball as a whole, and of the optic nerve, and surrounding tissues, will quickly be relieved or cured. In the chronic stages, most of the diseases of these different parts of the eye will yield to treatments nicely, providing the disease has not yet reached a hopeless, irreparable stage a stage where the tissues are gone, destroyed by the disease. Such tissues cannot be regrown or replaced.
Tumors of the eyes should be treated surgically, but with the additional use of the methods of common foundationing.
All sorts and kinds of acute or subacute inflammations of all parts of the eye, which make up more than 90 per cent of all eye diseases are quickly, pleasantly and effectively relieved, alleviated or cured by these treatments and methods. These diseases include most all diseases of the eye lids, of the conjunctiva and of the cornea; all types and forms of acute inflammation of the cornea, including all the various kinds of ulcers of the cornea, are all readily and nicely alleviated and soon cured by these methods. These facts are equally true of acute inflammation of the various coats of the eye ball ; episcleritis, scleritis, choroiditis, retinitis, all respond nicely to these treatments and methods.
The chronic forms of inflammation of all the various parts of the eye can also be alleviated and quite often cured by these methods, directly in proportion to the amount of permanent injury and destruction which has already taken place previous to the commencement of the use of these methods.
These facts are equally true of all forms of iritis, ciliary body inflammation, combinations of these two last named diseases, which are known as iridocyclitis or uveitis.
All these eye diseases must be taken in time, other-wise irreparable harm is done. From the moment the first antisepticizing treatment is given the patient, the inflammation of the eye starts to heal. The pain, tenderness, discomfort, tearing, redness, unbearableness to light (photophobia), spasms of the eye lids, congestion, inflammation of the eye immediately are more or less controlled and soon completely relieved. The patient is never for a moment made worse by these treatments and methods ; invariably there is more or less relief and improvement following each antisepticizing treatment.
Difficult cases of trachoma, even those cases which are reaching the terminal or final stages of the disease, with extensive ulcers covering the cornea, also with large blood vessels covering the eye ball, in which all other methods have failed, are nicely and soon helped by these methods. The ulcers and blood vessels disappear in short time. The inflammation is removed, sight restored and the patient enabled to return to work and earn a livelihood.
Glaucoma (Hardening of the Eye Ball)
Such difficult and serious diseases as hardening of the eye ball (glaucoma) will quickly yield to these methods. The acute, painful, badly inflamed cases will quickly respond. Most chronic cases of hardening of the eye ball will also recover and be restored to normal or as near so as possible depending on the amount of complete destruction of the eye that has taken place before these methods were first started. This is equally true of the vision; by these methods, if taken in time, most of it will be restored. The inflammation will be arrested in a short time and the eye ball will become soft and of normal tension and of a nice white color; eye sight will be restored and saved directly in proportion to the length of time and the amount of irreparable harm the patient has suffered from this disease.
Disease of the Retina, Optic Nerve Disease (Eye Nerve Disease)
Most acute and subacute inflammations of the various parts of the retina or eye nerve (optic nerve) are easily and quickly controlled and relieved or cured by these methods if taken in time. Chronic inflammation of these parts of the eye is also capable of relief or cure directly in proportion to the length of time and the amount of irreparable harm which has taken place before the antisepticizing treatments and other principles and methods of this system were started.
Sympathetic Ophthalmia
Even such dangerous inflammations of the eye as sympathetic ophthalmia, which results from injury to one eye setting up a corresponding or sympathetic inflammation of the other eye, are quickly placed under control and relieved and even successfully treated by the treatments and methods of this system.
Illustrative case: The writer took care of a boy about eight years old, who was brought to him after the good eye had already undergone quite advanced sympathetic inflammation following an injury to the other eye, which had reached the totally blind stage. Ordinarily, these cases are hopeless. Total blindness of both eyes usually sets in in short time. In this boy’s case good usable eye sight was retained in the sympathizing eye by this system.
Tear Duct and Tear Sac Disease, Overflow of Tears (Epiphora)
Another extremely pleasant result obtained by these methods, without operation, is the highly successful relief and ultimate cure of tearing of the eyes, which is so common in elderly people. The tearing of the eyes is due to inflammation of the tear ducts and tear sacs. It is surprising to note how quickly the common complaint of tearing of the eyes and filling up of the eyes with tears will disappear under the antisepticizing treatments and, if necessary, with the aid of some of the other methods of this system.
The Improvement of the Eye Sight by the Use of the Antisepticizing Treatments
A most remarkable and almost unbelievable phenomenon is the following : A patient who is complaining of dimness or somewhat deficient vision of more or less recent origin is given by his physician, an antisepticizing treatment which need not necessarily be of a strong strength (1-4000 or 1-3000). Almost immediately after the treatment is finished, the patient will see 15 percent better or more than before the treatment. This result of improvement of vision following the antisepticizing treatment will take place in quite old or chronic cases of approaching blindness.
Blindness Due to Cataract Formation
Even cataract cases, which is a disease of the most delicate structure of the eye ball, the crystalline lens, is controlled, vision is improved, and very often surgery on the eye is thereby avoided, especially if the patient is early and thoroughly common foundationed, and the work persisted in until satisfactory results are obtained.
Total Blindness Due to Nearsightedness Avoided
Progressive advancing nearsightedness (progressive myopia) is also controlled by common foundationing. Ordinarily, these people have to change their eye glasses from year to year, requiring stronger and stronger lenses, the eye sight becoming weaker yearly. When these people are properly common foundationed, this failing of the eye sight stops. The glasses need not then be changed more than once in many years, and at that, very slight corrections are necessary.
If left to themselves, in time many of these people become totally blind due to detachment of the retina; this can be prevented by these methods and means. As the nearsightedness increases, from year to year, the eye ball becomes more and more elongated until the retina becomes separated from the eye ball and the result is total blindness. It is certainly surprising and exceedingly pleasant to observe the return of some vision even in these apparently hopeless cases of detachment of the retina by the faithful, constant and efficient use of the methods of common foundationing. These means should not be delayed too long.
Eye Strain, Eye Pains (Asthenopia)
Common complaints of eye troubles which are not actual diseases of the eyes themselves but only symptoms of diseases the patient may be suffering from, as a rule are quickly and easily relieved by this therapy. In most instances, the symptoms and complaints are usually due to sinusitis and not to errors of the eye sight as is commonly thought.
Nothing is more pleasant than to have patients, who have been suffering with pains over or in the eyes the so called eye strain or asthenopic symptoms report that after an antisepticizing treatment or two, all pains are gone. These complaints of eye pains or eye strain have usually been old complaints and have been with the patient for a long time. The patients in most cases have attempted to obtain relief by the use of eye glasses, drugs or other means. Usually these were unsuccessful or at the best only partially or temporarily so. After a few antisepticizing treatments and perhaps some of the other work, these complaints quickly disappeared.
Many patients will complain of pains around the entire eye ball. This complaint is also quickly relieved by the antisepticizing treatments.
